2010-2011 New Items

Next year, Royalaires will be held the LAST period of the day, and we will stay until just 3pm. On the opposite day, we will be having after school practices for a short time, for routines such as Lyrical, Officers, etc. Just girls in those routines will attend. We are trying to keep it to NO night practices, and NO Saturdays. We may need a few Saturdays when we get close, but we are hoping to not need them. With no early mornings, we are hoping the girls get more sleep, have less injuries, and get sick less = we get more done! This is our first year to try this, but we are very opptimistic, the principal too, that this is going to be great!

Mandy Shaw, owner of Infinity, will be our technique instructor for the summer. This is an amazing opportunity for our team, and I am so excited for her to share her talents with the Royalaires!

Summer Schedule 2010

Here are our summer schedule dates for moritorium and practice times:

June 14-July 4 on (no practices held when school lets out for summer until this week; Riverdale Parade on the 3rd)
July 5-July 18 off
July 19-25 on for Ogden Parade the 24th
July 26-August 1 off
August 2- on for the rest of the summer
Roy Days Parade August 7th

Practices will be held 7-10 a.m., except for technique. Technique times to be announced soon.

Camp is June 28 - July 1st. BDT camp in Park City.

March Fundraiser Update

The fundraiser will just be one day, Saturday, the 27th. It will be from 7:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. We will sign up for shifts on Friday.

April Events

April 8th: Night to Remember, 6:30 pm.
April 12-14: Clinics for Tryouts, 6-7:30 am.
April 15: Tryouts 3 pm.
April 19: District Dance 7pm.
April 23-24: Dance Spectacular fundraiser (girls plus one parent) in shifts
April 30-May 1st: Utah Dance Championship fundraiser (girls plus one parent) in shifts for parents

February 23rd: Half Time. Meet at 6pm. This is our last game, and we will be doing hip hop.

New Moon Party

The team New Moon Party is 11/20. We will meet after school, and head over to the junction in Ogden. Our tickets have been pre-purchased. After the show, we will stay at the junction for dinner. If you want money for treats at the movie, please bring it. We will likely go to the Pizza Factory for dinner. Be prepared to declare a team!

New Team Meeting Reminder

Just a reminder that there is a meeting for the 2009-2010 Royalaires this Wednesday, at 7:30 p.m. in the Media Center. We will go over calendars, payments, fund raising, along with other items. Girls and at least one parent should be in attendance.

District Dance

District Dance is Monday at 7:00 p.m. Girls need to be at Fremont at 6:00 p.m. The dress rehearsal is Monday morning at 7:30 p.m., and a bus will be provided, and we will return around 10:45 a.m. Girls will be school excused. We will be doing our hip hop.

Calendars

Calendars will come home Thursday that go thru August. The copy machine is down.

And the Award Goes to...

Congratulations goes to Ashleigh for winning the Sterling Scholar award for the Dance Department. Both her and Jess did an outstanding job, and the judges were very impressed with both young ladies. It was fun for Tiana and I to sit back and watch them interview, perform, and improv. Ashleigh now goes on to compete against all Region V winners for a chance to go to State, and compete for scholarship opportunities. Good Luck Ash!

Team Cheer

4A All State

Ashleigh, Shelby, and Chelsie represented our team so well at the 4A All State competition on 11/5. There were so many girls competiting for only 25 spots on the team. We were so proud of how all three of them did, and Shelby and Chelsie were awarded spots on the team- go Royalaires! Pics will be posted soon- great job ladies!

TWILIGHT the movie - Team Party!

We will be meeting after school, on Friday, the 21st for the Twilight movie. Our tickets are for the 3:40 show. We will go to dinner afterwards. Please plan on blocking your afternoon and evening for the team- it will be a fun team bonding night!

Jordan Competition - for Parents

We will be staying overnight for the Jordan competition. I am in the process of booking a hotel. Prices are about $90 a night. I will post a number/hotel name when I finalize if any of you want to stay at the hotel. We will also need parents who can help take the girls from the hotel to the school that morning. Please let me know if you can help. Thank you!

Davis Competition

We will be attending the Davis Competition due to UVU being the same day as Falcon- they had a last minute scheduling change. This is December 5 & 6. Sorry for the change and busy December, it was just unavoidable.

Thursday Night Grades

Do not forget that each Thursday night grades are due. We need to see your progress and how you are doing in class. This is part of your first period/Royalaires grade: 10 pts per Thursday. Don't forget it! Keep those grades up!

Summer Is Over!

Summer is over, can you believe it? I just thought I would post a few things that have been memorable over the summer... We were the BDT Performance Night Champions, Kyly worked a little too hard at military, we were awarded the Hardest Working Team at BDT Camp, good old Roy Days Parade, and Harmony...thanks for all the hair you left in my room when that fro was straightened! Royalaires- you are amazing and so talented, and I can't wait for football season to start tomorrow!
